When It Rains It Pours

This will probably be a long post, so if you don't know what I'm talking about or not interested, don't bother. I just gotta vent this out.

So I've been having an issue with the subject Biopsychology in HELP which stands for Hell's Evil Learning Place. I went to see my dean today cause they had come to a decision. He sat me down and he said I have your results here and it seems that you failed your finals. So even if you took your midterms you still fail your finals. So I say, "can I see what I got?" Of course la cannot like duh! Then he says "finals is 35% and midterms is 15%, you need 50% to pass, so even if you get full marks for your midterms which is not really possible you still wouldn't have passed". He continues with "we propose that you do the subject with some help with PAL (some tutoring program)". Then I realize, wait. "but sir wouldn't I have to get full marks for both midterms and finals to get 50%?". *Pause* He looks at the pc and says let me check again. KANTOI! I say "I remember doing AE before and you have marks that accumulated that can help you get a pass grade for your resit". Isn't that the case? say you fail and get 40% first time around, when you resit you just need that 10% no? Anyways he goes on "Yeah I understand what your saying, I think you better see Dr. Goh cause I got this from him". Oh Oh, there's a battle you can't win.

So I wait for in Kenneth's office for Goh for about 15 mins and I have to admit I've got no beef with the Kenneth cause he's a nice guy la and he actually was listening to what I was saying and asking me how I felt about it and all. So while waiting we started talking about xbox and prices and some stories about the damn 3rod (spoilt xbox term). Then it was time to meet The Goh. I walk in his office and the first thing he says is "I don't understand why you cannot accept what is given to you" with a frustrated look on his face. I was like wtf!? I'm just trying to understand what's going on. Anywho, I take a seat and he says "Okay your saying that we didn't inform you about the midterms okay let's cut the midterms out of the picture, we focus on the finals. I'm looking at your results and you didn't even get half, not even close". Blady hell must la be so insulting, why don't you just spit at my face while your at it. I find it hard to believe that I got so low, because I studied for it. It was the only subject I was doing at that time and it was the only thing keeping me from going UK, as lazy as I am also I would not screw that up. If I felt I didn't do well I would have went and saw Linda to ask if there were any other way stating that I might have screwed the exam up. I felt good about it. I remember getting most of the labels for the diagrams even. I asked him also why can't I see what my marks were at least I can get some closure cause I'm having a hard time taking their word for it, some more the way he put it, "not even close to half". He turns around and says "it's not like we're trying to steal money from you, it's not like we enjoy making students suffer". Aku tahu lah, I'm not accusing you of anything, I just need to see it for myself. To make matters worse he says if you got a bit less than half say 14 or 15 we can still help you. I look at Kenneth and I can see he's just feeling bad for me. "Okay let me put it to you this way, 35% is finals and 30% is midterms, something like that" Aik? I thought 15% midterms but okay la since it's been awhile I'll give them that one. Goh continues "okay let's not look at the midterms, I'm not grading you on the midterms. I'm not saying I'm giving you 0/30 for midterms. We just cancel that out and look at the finals and you didn't pass that". Keep in mind through all this he didn't give me much if any room to speak. Finally I get to squeeze some words in and I say "So if I pass my finals means I would have passed la?" and He says "if you passed your finals we won't be having this conversation" (he says it with a delightful kinda sarcasm, if you know him you'll know what I mean).

So what can I do? Mr. Man over here has the forbidden marks in his hands which I can't see, what can I argue with some more. He also said that AE is a one time thing and if we give you another chance, everyone will want the same treatment, we have to keep to our standards. Yeah but I'm not some guy who just failed and is looking for a shortcut, HELP made a mistake but why is it I'm the one paying for it? Haven't I paid enough by not getting to go to UK? Not only was I not informed about the midterms, I was told to sit for the finals. If I'm a regular student who failed and you don't show me the marks it's okay cause it's the protocol but I'm a special case here you have to show me proof that your mistake didn't cost me the pass grade. Am I wrong? Well I think I've rambled long enough. Point is you can't beat The Goh.

Best part is when I reach my car I see a nice saman waiting for me. What a way to end the day.
