Journal Entry #2: The 6th Man

A couple were on the road one night in the middle of nowhere. They were in what appeared to be a modern vehicle, suggesting this happened sometime in the future. The male was white and the female was of Asian descent possibly Korean. The ride they were on were the equivalent of horse carriage rides that started in the 1800s, except this form did not have a drive.

As they drove, a single-occupant vehicle came around by their side and asked them to pull over. The male in the vehicle looked also of Asian descent and had a top knot pony tail, the type samurais would wear during battles. When the couple stopped he said to them, "Please give us your fuel, there are many people starving here". He said that the couple could wait till someone comes to check and since they have insurance for the rental, it would not be a problem. The girl looks around and spots an old lady picking flowers. The stranger says "Don't worry, there are people around here. They will find you and take you back". Without much thought she was convinced. As she is filling the barrel with fuel, the stranger says "you don't have to give me everything if you're afraid of being stranded, keep some for yourself". The girl responded by saying "no, it's quite alright. You need it more than we do". The stranger thanked them and was on his way.

The couple then waited.

At the break of dawn there was still no help around, thus, they decided to walk. Soon after, they reached an open area that were filled with people from all walks of life. These people seemed lifeless, just wandering around without a purpose. As the couple tried to figure out the place, a prehistoric looking African male approached them and said "they took my stick". It was obvious that this man was from a time before theirs. They had never seen someone like him outside a museum. The couple were motionless, they did not know what to think. As they stood there with thoughts racing through their minds, another African male approached them. He looked like he was from the 1700s. He said "well ya know, they took them bullets from this here rifle of mine". He continued by saying "there has been known to be six of these men, all with special abilities, scavenging the world looking for lives to steal. I'd like to think of our friend as the manipulator".
