Journal Entry #1: The Driver

The world was falling apart at a rapid pace. It was a blur how the human race had ended up in such a way. The land were just filled with uninhibited corruption. There were a few of us who still believed in change. The Alliance were formed to endorse this change for a better world.

It was around 10 something, a night darker than usual. The few of us were on duty on the highway, stopping cars and telling them all about The Book. We were going about our work as usual as one of the cars stopped. The driver gets out of the car holding a garden shear and starts shouting at one of the guys on duty, screaming "your book ruined my life!". The guy recognizes the driver and starts to shield himself as he remembers he had been attacked before by the same man. Gripping the garden shear tightly he raised his hands about to stab the guy while other members of the Alliance shouted "don't do it!". Just as he is about to penetrate the man with all his anger fueling his rage, he lowers his arms and starts walking back towards his car.

I walk up to him and pat him on the back saying "it's alright man, you did the right thing" as he is about to enter the car. He turns and says "I've already hurt him" in an slightly agitated voice and a grin on his face. He starts walking towards me with the shear. The guys were still consulting the other guy. Before I know it he was slashing my palm as I tried to shield myself. At this point, Wu and James noticed what was going on. He cuts me again on the palm. The guys starts running towards us yelling. The driver is distracted by their screams and turns. Just as he turns, I kick him in the balls. And again. He drops the shear. I bend down to try to reach for the shear. The boys arrive at the scene, the driver is still in pain. I grip the shear and was ready to stab the guy to death. In the process of standing up, James puts his arm on my shoulder and says "John, our integrity is the change". I drop the shear.
